Bingo Ads expandingYou only need to turn on your TV set to see that online bingo advertising is spreading – with Ads now being seen during a range of new programme types, from gardening to cooking programmes. According to one gambing researcher, Mark Griffiths, a professor of the industry from Nottingham University – the growth is set to continue growing, with several driving influences.
Most notably, bingo gaming on the web doesn't yet have a truly established stereotypical gamer – and it could be true that people with diverse interests will love the game. As such – the marketers behind online bingo are testing new avenues to analyse the game's appeal. What's more, recent reports suggest that in contrast to other forms of gambling such as poker, bingo doesn't yet have an established audience, meaning the Ads are being created to test new waters.
Bingo is expected to grow faster than other gambling niches in the next decade, mostly because the game is attracting niches who in the past have not been attracted to gambling. Personally – we simply think that bingo has a universal appeal, and that's why the Ads can be seen everywhere you go, from the tube to newspapers and late night TV.

Devon property with fishing competition prize winner still not electedOver the last few weeks, we have received a number of emails from you mentioning this UK property prize competition. Although it is a bit of a sideline, we thought we would say a word to update you on this interesting story.
After months of speculation following the decision to postpone the prize draw in the middle of October 2008, it seems that the Oldborough Retreat competition has still not been concluded.
Despite selling all 46,000 tickets on their website for the competition, the couple that own the house and promoted the competition were put in the situation of having to postpone the competition until they are sure it is not deemed unlawful by the UK's Gambling Commission. So far, according to the statement on their website, Brian and Wendy Wilshaw are still awaiting a positive verdict from the appropriate UK authorities.
We hope this situation resolves itself soon, particularly since so many players bought a ticket in good faith hoping to win their dream property prize. For more information about this story and other online similar property competitions, one of our featured advertisers Win-House.co.uk provides lots of additional resources.

While the prize fund remains unchanged, you can expect the New Year to kick start the action and hopefully, our first winner for 2009. As always, thank you for your interest in Pixel Draws, thanks to your support the community continues to grow. Congratulations to Mr Moguche who just won $153,000 on Pixelotto
As many of you know by now, Pixelotto is over and the winner has been picked: a certain Mr Moguche residing in Kenya. Although the final prize never reached $1 million as originally planned, we still think it was successful in its own right - if you ignore for a second the amazing (one-time) success of the Million Dollar Homepage. As explained on the Pixelotto homepage, Mr Moguche intends to start up a profit-making venture that will donate 10% of all profits to support children's education and welfare in Kenya, in addition to the $15,300 donated by Pixelotto to a charity of his choice. We think that's great and shows how this kind of game can make a difference. From what we understand, no follow-up rounds of Pixelotto are planned at this stage.
On our side, we're pleased to see more people join every day: we now have 325 active members and our first grid continues to fill. We're hoping to bring more interesting ads to you over the coming weeks, and to start growing the prize fund.
All the best,
The Pixel Draws Team

The grids keep on filling up gradually...We now have a total of 138 ads on Pixel Draws across our grids, which is great news - 15 ads were added to the site since our last blog entry. Of course, as free spaces are still available the prize funds haven't kicked off yet, but it's only a question of time. If you're an advertiser, we suggest making sure you get a free space on a grid before it's too late! Remember, you can use up to 4 ad blocks at a time in the free sections on each grid.
Our first grid (Prizes Competitions, Games and Sweepstakes) is 13% full with 54 free pixel blocks still available. The Cars and Motors grid is 7% full; the Web and Technology grid is 8% full; the Travel and Lifestyle grid is 7% full and finally the Fashion grid is only 6% full.
We're still seeing the majority of people focusing on the first grid as you might expect, in the hope that this prize fund will start growing first. Watch this space! We're confident that this grid will continue growing fastest given it is on the homepage and given the theme of the grid. But make sure you don't forget to position yourself as a player on the other grids, they're all run independently and some of you have been clicking these regularly as well, increasing your chances when the time comes to draw the first winner.
We'll continue to update you as Pixel Draws continues to grow!
All the best,
The Pixel Draws Team

Look out for Pixel Draws emails when opening an accountA few of our players have experienced problems activating their accounts due to the activation email being filtered as spam, so we just wanted to give you a few instructions to avoid any future difficulties in receiving our emails.
In order to avoid any future correspondence (especially winner notifications) from getting filtered, we would advise you to make sure to designate any email from us (such as Editors@Pixel-Draws.com) as non-spam.
If you are using an internet email account, you can simply login, go to your spam folder, and press the equivalent of the "this is not spam" button in your programme. That way any future emails from us will be considered legitimate.
If you are using something like Outlook or Outlook Express, you will simply need to go to your spam folder, select our email, and then right click on your mouse, and choose to designate that email as non-spam. This will equally teach the programme that any email received from that address is not spam.

Less than one month to go till Christmas! We've been very busy over the last few weeks and Pixel Draws has continued to grow since our last blog entry. We're pleased to say 32 ads were placed on our various grids in the last couple of weeks and we now have 212 active members playing on Pixel Draws from all around the world.
We've had a couple of enquiries about the prize funds: when will we first give out our first prize and for which grid? Well, as you can see, our first grid is currently the most popular, however the other grids are quickly catching up. Once the free section in a grid has been completely filled with ads, advertisers will focus their attention on the standard and premium ad sections, which cost $100 to $150 per ad block. This will mean that the prize fund will start growing on that grid and we can give away the first $1,000 to a lucky player.
Given that the first grid is filling more quickly than others we notice that fewer players are focusing on the other grids at the moment. This provides an opportunity for anyone patient enough to focus on the other four grids even now. As soon as those grids fill up, they will be in a better position to win a prize. We're talking to a few advertisers who are considering purchasing an ad block as the site develops, so watch this space!
All the best,
The Pixel Draws Team

Dear Advertiser,A few words dedicated to our advertisers this week. We've had many enquiries about our traffic and how the site is developing in terms of links, visitors and page rank. These are obviously important considerations when assessing where to place your ad, so we wanted to say a few words on traffic and SEO this week.
Traffic and memberships have been building regularly and we're pleased to see visitors from new countries coming to the site every day. We now have just under 150 players playing regularly on Pixel Draws with an average of just over 10 clicks per player. Some players are much more active and returning every day to be ahead of the others when the first free draws take place.
Given we officially launched Pixel Draws in September, we're still in the Google "sandbox". We expect to be out in the next 3-4 months, by which time we expect decent starting page rank. We've done our best to build many links to the site and submitted to hundreds of directories. For the time being, we have over 170 inbound links from other sites, as you can see in the Yahoo! Site Explorer tool. We've also done lots of search engine optimisation over the weeks and we're pleased with the results.
As we mentioned previously, we intend to make Google Analytics available to you to allow you to follow our traffic directly yourself and assess how Pixel Draws develops. In the meantime, if you want to have a look, please get in touch to request login details. We're also thinking of keeping the game running until 30 September 2010 as planned but keeping the grids running for a further 2 years, to give ads exposure for a full 5 years. We welcome your feedback on these ideas and of course, any other ideas or comments you could have to help us improve the site.
We still have free pixel ads available on the different grids, with the homepage obviously busier than others at present. As a result, although players will have noticed that our prize funds have yet to start building, we're happy with the progression and from the feedback we have received, confident we will generate winners before long. Remember, we keep every single click so anyone who plays early will be ahead of anyone else!

The Christmas season has officially started in LondonWe've started spotting Christmas decorations already in shops around London, and the ads on TV have started coming in. Just as we were getting used to summer, another year is drawing to a close and UK retail is in full spin to get us to buy the latest and greatest gadgets and fashion accessories... If you have a close look, you'll notice that even Pixel Draws isn't immune to this trend, as we saw a seasonal ad appear only today. In the meantime, we're seeing regular new visitors and our rankings are gradually increasing week by week. We will shortly add some counters on the site to allow you to see the development yourself, as well as detailed statistics (we're thinking Google Analytics would work well), for which we will publish login details. After all, it's become pretty easy these days to just draw up your own graph or counter of visitor traffic, but we want to make sure you can check the data yourselves. That way advertisers have some context to help them make their decision as to whether to place an ad or not. As you'll see below, we've had a few new ads placed across our grids this week, coming from a variety of sectors and as far as Thailand.
 Playaholics.com
is a site that allows you to play a wide variety of fun games, either for free or to win prizes if you're good. [Prizes, Games and Sweepstakes grid]

We don't know much about the dynamics over there right now, but given the prices in London, it could be worth a look. The sites lists flats, condos and studios for sale. [Travel and Lifestyle grid]
Beautiful-travel.com is the site of a small travel agency based close to Siena in Tuscany, Italy. They organise wine and food tours for those who want to discover the local culture. [Travel and Lifestyle grid]
Todaygem.com. Another site from Thailand, focused on gems and jewellery. We hear that the jewelry sector is very developed in Thailand and you can find some great bargains. This site looks like a good place to start, featuring some impressive designs. [Fashion grid]
PetLondon.net is perhaps one of the more unusual sites on Pixel Draws so far, but we recognise that there is a real demand for these products. Have a look at PetLondon to find the 'very best' for your dog or cat in terms of fashion and accessories! [Fashion grid]
As always, we welcome any thoughts, comments or suggestions from you, we're always looking for ways to improve Pixel Draws.
All the best and have a good week-end,
The Pixel Draws Team

It's been a busy week so far...Now that we have officially launched Pixel Draws, we're seeing new players join the site to be amongst the first to play. We're also seeing a number of advertisers interested in the idea of getting involved and we think you'll be seeing some interesting developments on the site in the coming weeks. Interesting to see many new players from New Zealand and Australia, particularly this week, as well as from India and even Hungary. For those of you wondering how many people have registered so far (given we officially launched on 30 September), we now have just over 110 members that regularly click ads on Pixel Draws. That represents a pretty small proportion of the visitors to the site, but it's only natural that many don't register right away, particularly as the prize funds have yet to start growing (given we still have free ad space available). As soon as you start seeing paying ads on the site however, those that registered and started playing early will be the best placed to win the cash prizes as they will have a longer history of clicks that are eligible to get picked. That said, it's fair to say the majority of clicks is concentrated on our first grid, it's worth registering even a few clicks on the other ones, you never know where we will sell the first ads...
OK, in the meantime, here is the list of advertisers that have joined Pixel Draws since our last update:

Welcome to all our new players! This week has seen a significant increase in activity and we're pleased to welcome new players from a wide range of countries. The number of people finding out about Pixel Draws has increased a lot, in part thanks to word of mouth, so thank you to all of you who told their friends about us! You will have noticed that ads are getting clicked more as a result. We have yet to open the prize funds but as most of you know already, every ad counts in the free prize draw once a prize fund reaches the right level, so it's worth clicking the free ads as well. If any of you have friends who run their own website, be sure to let them know about us so that they can place their ad for free on our site while we still have free ad blocks available (find out more in the Link To Us section).
Not surprisingly, our first grid, Prizes, Games & Free Draws, is getting the most attention, given that it is on our homepage and contains more ads. Remember though, to also visit the other grids as they are all independent, and you can click each grid up to 10 times per day.
So where do most of our players come from? As we expected, given we are a British site, many players (over 44%) come from the UK, closely followed by the US (over 42%). But we're pleased to see players from a wide range of other countries, including India, Barbados and Ukraine! The average age of our players for the time being is just over 41, but we have players as young as 17 and up to 76 years old! We also get traffic from many other countries, and every day sees new players registering, so we're sure that the profiles will change over time.
So watch this space - we're looking forward to welcoming paid ads in the coming weeks and generating winners on Pixel Draws!
All the best,
The Pixel Draws Team

Welcome to our new advertisersWe're pleased to welcome a number of new advertisers on our different boards, most of which joined over the last couple of weeks. It is interesting to see the variety of different types of websites advertised, we're grateful for the level of interest Pixel Draws has generated so far, particularly in the last couple of weeks. Here is a brief overview of who has joined us on Pixel Draws:
Prize-Competitions.com was the first ad placed on Pixel Draws. The site focuses on free comping, prize competitions and rewiews of games and websites in the sector. The site is nearly ready to goAs some of you may have noticed, we have worked hard to make some further changes to the site, to make it faster and clearer throughout. We hope you notice the difference, we have really tried to help make the ads as visible as possible (rather than make the site really stand out by itself), and the navigation clear and simple. In the meantime, we're considering adding some visual illustrations to explain the concepts a bit better, such as the one below, however we want to make sure the site isn't slowed down by too many images (to accommodate for ads loading up on the grids) - after all, there is nothing worse than a site that takes minutes to load up.
We are now able to accept ads and invite advertisers to have a look at the grids and take up the free ad blocks on a first come, first served basis. The free prize draws will start after the official launch on 30th September 2007 as and when ad space is sold, however if you place your ad earlier, that means you will have an extra month of advertising to yourself, and you can be sure you will stand out as one of the first ones on our grids. We haven't yet started any formal advertising ourselves for Pixel Draws, which explains why the site seems pretty quiet for now - we want to ensure everything works well before doing so.
In the meantime, watch this space and we'll keep you posted on how things develop.

So why should you advertise on Pixel Draws? Many of you will have become quite cynical about pixel advertising by now. As an advertiser, you want to know that your ad will generate a good amount traffic to your website in return for the money you are investing, and you will be wondering why it may makes sense to buy ad space on a pixel grid where other ads are displayed. Well, we would agree when it comes to ‘traditional’ pixel advertising, where you’re simply given the opportunity of buying virtual ad space in the hope that your ad will stand out amongst – literally – tens of thousands of other ads, each with their own product and activity. Why would visitors to those sites want to click your ad in particular, especially if they have no idea what you are advertising about? How would your ad generate any meaningful traffic, after the initial excitement about the website is over? We want to create targeted, durable traffic (i.e. not just for a few months) by giving players a real incentive to explore your ads.
We don’t feature any ads smaller than 400 pixels so each one is visible (your ad image is visible in full size too when you place your mouse over it), and no offensive or inappropriate ads or links, so you won’t have the unfortunate situation of having your ad sit next to an escort site for example. All our ads have to fit in one of our 5 product grids, which means visitors already know what your ad could be about before clicking on it. They can also see how many clicks your ad has received so far, and it makes sense for players to click ads that haven’t been clicked much, in the hope that it will be selected to for the free draw to win the next cash prize.
Unlike other pixel sites, we won’t create new grids once the Pixel Draws have started – after all, that would mean your ad wouldn’t have as much value later on as when you bought it. Your ad will stay on our website until 30th September 2010 - that means you can buy ad space for less than $3/month, with a real chance of generating traffic to your site. There are a limited number of Premium and Free pixel blocks as well, just have a look at ‘How it works’ to find out more.
We hope you find Pixel Draws interesting. Please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions. Pixel Draws is run by a UK-registered company, and you can be assured you are dealing with a reliable organisation. We hope you benefit from advertising on our site.
All the best,
The Pixel Draws Team

Welcome to Pixel Draws - some thoughts for visitors to the siteThank you for joining us on Pixel Draws, we just launched this website with a twist on pixel advertising, designed to give site visitors the chance of winning cash prizes on all our grids in return for clicking ads and finding out more about products they are interested in.
As a visitor, we understand you may have limited interest in pixel sites overall. All you see usually is a huge number of tiny ads, randomly displayed on a very big pixel grid, arranged in no particular theme. What is the point for you? We’ve tried to address this by giving you the chance of getting a financial reward in return for actively clicking ads to find out more about the websites they link to.
It’s very simple and we assure you, there are no catches. We give back to you over 65% of all the revenues we generate from selling ad space (a further 10% is donated to charity). You register for FREE and click up to 10 ads per day, per grid, and every time the prize fund on a grid increases by $1,000 to start with, we pick one ad on that grid at random, then one person who clicked that ad gets picked at random – and we give them $1,000. The cash prizes increase to $2,000, then $5,000 as we run more free draws. And we guarantee not to share your info with anyone, we are NOT one of these sites that sell information to create revenues. So you won’t receive loads of junk mail after registering on this site!
Unlike other pixel sites, we’re not suggesting that we will generate $1,000,000 in 12 months – we just don’t think that’s realistic. Nor do we think you should wait 12 months to win a prize, however much that may (potentially) be! We’ve tried to be more realistic by giving away most of our revenues in the form of smaller prizes, so that it makes more sense for you. Every click you enter is kept until 30th September 2010, which means you can win more than once or even stop clicking to be entered anyway. Oh, and we don’t feature any tiny ads, offensive or inappropriate ads or links, and each product grid has a theme. That means you won’t find yourself by chance on some unsavoury website when you are interested in fashion for example!
We’ve tried to be very clear and transparent about how it all works, but we welcome any comments or suggestions you may have to improve our site! That’s all for now, at this stage we would like to wish visitors to Pixel Draws best of luck, we hope to generate many winners.
All the best,
The Pixel Draws Team
